Chic 8BR Retreat+Central East Austin +Large Groups

The host was okay (ignored some issues when we asked about them) but the place was dirty and poorly maintained. It's still a decent deal considering the location and price. But some of the issues weren't really acceptable regardless. For example. * The one of the buildings didn't have a working washer/dryer.* There was human hair on many of the towels! We ended up washing them all again and it was fine. So I'm not even sure if they washed them. * Furniture and other stuff was broken. Like legs that could fall off easily. Ceiling fans that wouldn't work. Blinds that were totally broken. Tiles on the stairs were broken and sharp.* Cockroaches.Considering the price I think 3/5 is fair. If they had even made minimal effort to keep the place maintained and clean it would be 5/5.

The host responded to issues by saying they would be fixed after our stay. The pictures did not accurately reflect the poorly renovated homes

This vrbo was good enough for our needs. We liked that there were individual bedrooms and many bathrooms- perfect for an adult group. Place is clearly a cheap gut remodel and slap the old millennial gray on the walls. We were surprised that you had to go outside a fence and back in a fence to get between houses. We were also surprised to find a few outlets weren’t working and the beds in two units were cheap, broken and had bent supports. When we arrived, extra towels were folded and put in a linen closet but they were damp so we had to dry them. It would have been nice to have bathroom hand towels too- not just body towels. Otherwise, amenities like diningware, furniture, air conditioning were sufficient and we made the location work for us with easy Ubers to East 6th and Downtown. Communication with the property manager was A+, quick and thorough and we appreciated that!
